An Army E-7 in a deployed environment was charged with false official statement, malingering, negligent discharge of a firearm, and self-injury without intent to avoid service. The member was offered nonjudicial punishment. Mr. George investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident, prepared a response on the member’s behalf and called witnesses for a hearing before the commander. On the date of the hearing, the commander decided to withdraw all charges against the member.
